Bahceli Villa - A lovely villa with sea and mountain views in Northern Cyprus
Restaurants and Bars

My villa is within easy walking distance of some really lovely local bars and charming restaurants serving local produce, including hot and cold mezzes, seafood, fresh grills and a range of European cuisine.

Since purchasing the villa, the local area has  developed nicely but still remains low-key and a perfect escape. The villa is probably not for party goers, although the local bars and restaurants get pretty lively and you can walk there very safely.

Close by you will find an excellent, international-standard golf course with a nice restaurant and the most stunning views of the greens and mediterranean. This will take your breath away, it is so beautiful!

Bellapais with its ancient Abbey has some excellent places to eat. In less than one hour’s drive you can visit The Karpaz Gate, one of the Mediterranean’s newest marinas with a first-class fish restaurant.

35 minutes’ drive to historic and beautiful Castle harbour town Girne (Kyrenia) with its lively nightlife, casinos, hotels, bars and a large selection of good restaurants along harbour. Walk along harbour, away from Harbour Castle, to the Rock’s Hotel for its excellent fish restaurant and a superb Chinese restaurant called The Dragon.

10 minutes’ drive along the coast to local town of Esentepe; traditional and laid back with restaurants, bars, bank, petrol station, hairdressers and a couple of small but well-stocked supermarkets. A further 10 minutes coastal drive takes you to Bellapais, with its beautiful abbey, and excellent restaurants for finer evening dininng.

The cost of living is relatively low in comparison to the UK or other holiday destinations, such as Spain or France. Currently the Sterling to Turkish Lira exchange rate is very favourable (June, 2012). A nice 3-course meal with wine can cost as little as £10 per head. Expect to pay £15/£20 per head at restaurants in more touristic areas, for example, Kyrenia harbour.
